Leonard J. Romero is an Independent Firearms Examiner who is retained in civil cases by private counsel as well as appointments by the Los Angeles Superior Court in criminal cases involving the use of firearms.

 

Leonard J. Romero is hired by attorneys to assist with the analysis of ballistic evidence and to assist Police Officers in their Officer Involved Shootings were the analysis of ballistic evidence is needed or trajectory analysis needs to be conducted at the scene of the shooting.  These cases are civil and/or criminal in nature and involve all areas of Forensic Firearms Analysis.

• Perform a bullet path or trajectory analysis at a crime scene
• Perform a chemical analysis of gun shot residue patterns to determine muzzle to target distances

 

As a Forensic Firearms Examiner you not only Identify fired cartridge cases and fired bullets to specific firearms but also an examiner can use bullet path analysis and the chemical analysis of gunshot residue patterns to reconstruct shooting crime scene in totality.
